Subscribing Sunbird to a Remote Calendar

You can use Mozilla Sunbird to manage your calendar.  One of the useful things Sunbird can do is to subscribe to remote calendars.

Here's an example of how to subscribe to a Google Calendar with Sunbird:

Log into your Google Calendar and go to the calendar's settings.

In the Calendar Details tab there is an ICAL link at the bottom, click on it and copy the address it displays.

Then open Sunbird and select "Subscribe to a remote calendar" from the File menu.

Select "Network calendar" and click Next.

Select ICAL, then paste the URL in the text box provided, then click next to give it a name and color, and then finish.

Your remote calendar will appear in your list of calendars, and its events will be displayed in the color you selected in the name screen.

Note this is for Mozilla Sunbird 0.8.  Looks like in 10 years of development they haven't come up with a version 1.0, which tells you something.
