I attended Christopher Columbus High School in the Bronx, between 1989 and 1993.In honor of World Teachers' Day today, tell us about a teacher who had a positive impact on your life.
Mr Neyen taught me that self-value, for realizing that I had reason to be confident and assertive.
Ms Goldberg taught me character, that I knew how to behave morally and with stoicism and humility.
Ms Sikillian taught me freedom that I needed to follow my dreams.
Mr Kaplan, Kap, taught me the value of hard work, leadership, and teamwork.
Mr Spivak taught me to not be afraid of being a geek, to use smarts for good purposes.
Mr Melia, the principal, taught me that all the talent in the world, if not properly guided, can go to waste and world would be the less for it.
Dr Comras taught me that whatever I want to achieve and wherever I want to go, I can do it with good effort, hard work, a little luck and a little help from friends.
Dr Dzik taught me how to hold a note, and that, sometimes you don't have to sing the loudest, sweetest or best; sometimes you just have to be able to sing and hold a note.
So many others, i'm sure given more time I would remember...
